Welcome to Leona Graham's website which gives you an opportunity to find out more about Leona and her work. Leona is a presenter on Absolute Radio. (Formerly known as Virgin Radio). Leona, 'Queen of Rock' has been on Virgin/Absolute Radio for over 10 years and presents the Absolute Classic Rock Party on Saturday nights, plus Sundays 12-5pm. Leona is also on air weekdays, providing daytime cover shows when other DJ's are away.
Leona was the first presenter on Absolute Classic Rock, (formerly Virgin Radio Classic Rock) a DAB Digital Radio station for London launched in 2003. She presents a daily programme on the station from 10am-2pm Monday to Fridays, plus Sundays 9am-12pm. In January 2010 Leona was part of another new station, Absolute 80s on DAB all over the UK. Leona took on 80s Drivetime and you can hear her every weekday 5-7pm.
Leona joined Virgin Radio (now called Absolute Radio) in April 2000 taking over Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights from Gail Porter. Since then her shows have included 'Teenage Kicks', 'The Virgin Party', '80's Anthems', 'Smells Like the 90's', 'The Classic Rock Show', Weekend Breakfast, 'Virgin Love', and the 'Virgin UK Album Chart' and now 'The Absolute Classic Rock Party'. When other DJ's are away, Leona presents their shows too (aka the 'Swing Presenter') this works out at around nine months of the year, so the chances are that you'll hear her on the air every day!
Leona is also a well known voice over artist - you've probably heard Leona's voice on a variety of outlets, voicing station idents, TV commercials and promos. She was the voice of Capital Radio and Radio 1 in the late 90's and has been the voice of Virgin/Absolute Radio for many years (as well as being a presenter there). Leona was the voice behind the successful 'Airwaves' Chewing Gum TV ads, and a prominent voice of ITV promos. In addition, she was the voice of the music TV show 'The Nokia Green Room' which aired on T4 - Channel 4 last year. Currently she is on Virgin Media TV doing many movie trailers and voiced the Tina Turner concert ads. Leona is also one of the voices on the newly launched Now Radio, www.1023nowradio.com, in Edmonton, Canada.
Leona has a Bachelor Of Arts Degree in Drama, and is a qualified school teacher. Her free time is spent with her young family including two step daughters and a baby son called Harley, born July 09. She also enjoys her favourite sports, Surfing & Sea Kayaking! Kayaking
